The four tiers are one path, not four choices: start as a Guest, leave a Drive email for a 14-day free trial, then pick Reader (one child) or Reader Plus(the family) for the long run. Whichever tier, a child's reading itself is always free and never locked.

Heavy families can also buy extra book credits:€1 / book or €3 / 5 books (parent-side only; kids never see prices).

We only charge for AI help with new books,
never for a child's reading itself. After you cancel, the books stay, the reading history stays, re-reading stays — only online AI help pauses, and resubscribing brings it back.
Getting started

One path, three steps

LexiByte adapts to a child's reading level — lots of new words and slow going means single-tap lookup with guided reading on; once they're fluent, double-tap to avoid mistaps. Just move at the pace below.

No email — read one first

In guest mode, read LexiByte's curated public-domain books, take a pre-generated quiz, try 5 AI lookups. See whether your child wants to read and whether lookups help.

Connect Drive — 14 full days

Leave a Google email to unlock the full product for 14 days: upload your own books, unlimited members, AI lookups / quizzes / LexiBot all open, data on your own Drive.

Long term → Reader / Reader Plus

Pay per child reading, €5/month each, including AI support for 5 new books (unused rolls over). One child picks Reader (€5); two or more pick Reader Plus (from €10, credits in a shared family pool).

Reader Plus isn't "unlimited AI" — it grants roll-over new-book credits per reader: reading is always kept; online AI is open only within the trial budget or an active subscription.

FAQ

A few things you might ask

What is a Founding Member?

Families who subscribe during the beta become Founding Members and lock €3/child/month forever (was €5) — as long as the subscription stays active, later price rises won't affect you. It's an early-bird price right, not a contract, no minimum term, cancel anytime (resubscribing later uses the price of the day).

Reader vs Reader Plus?

Only the number of children: one child picks Reader (€5/month), two or more pick Reader Plus (€5/child/month). Same features; each child gets AI support for 5 new books monthly, and Reader Plus credits go into a shared family pool that rolls over. Shelved books, the public library, re-reading and basic reading are all unlimited.

If I cancel, do I lose my books?

No. Uploaded books, reading records and unused credits all stay, and children keep reading and re-reading. Only online AI (new explanations / on-demand quizzes) pauses, and resubscribing restores it.

Can I use it without an email?

Yes. Guest mode reads LexiByte's curated public-domain books, takes pre-generated quizzes and tries 5 AI lookups — no email at all. Connect Google Drive when you want to upload your own books or sync across devices.

Why isn't the AI unlimited?

AI explanations and quizzes have real costs, and unlimited use tempts kids to treat AI as a shortcut. Book credits + chapter-unlock keep costs in check and hold the "read it yourself first" line. Kids never see prices or limits — only parents see usage.

Where is my data stored?

Your uploaded books and reading records live in your own Google Drive — we don't host your private books. A little account info sits in our backend; when you use AI features the relevant text is sent to the AI service. Full details in the Privacy Policy.

Is there a school / teacher plan?

It's on the roadmap. We're polishing the family version first; a school version and Reading Packs will follow once there are real users. Teachers who'd like to pilot — get in touch.
